I made it to Pearsburg earlier today. I went by Woods Hole Hostel and will write more about it after I get my chores done. It is awesome.

At Neels Gap on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia

Hello everyone I only have a minute on the computer but I wanted to say thanks for everyone's comments. I wish I could reply to each of them directly but I am sharing this computer with 26 other people so I need to keep it short. All is well, weather is great, people are great, views are great. Good luck to everyone. UPDATED - We were part of an early group getting into Neels Gap and while they were very prepared with merchandise, their grocery items were pretty slim, and expensive. After walking in the snow and ice for a few days, everyone that did not have trekking poles purchased them at Neels Gap. I met Pirate, a legend on the trail, for the first time here and would see him another five or six times in towns further north. I also meet Jonathan and Maggie, two people I would hike with later on in my journey.

Macro Photography, Flowers

“We say we love flowers, yet we pluck them. We say we love trees, yet we cut them down. And people still wonder why some are afraid when told they are loved.” - Unknown I am going to miss taking photos of flowers this winter. I have started practicing indoor photography with a little DIY light box so I am guessing I will have to visit the florist this winter a few times at least. I am not exactly sure what these flowers are. I do know that they only bloom during the day.

Cowboying it at the Grand Canyon

Best Lodging at the Grand Canyon I had planned on doing another 3 hour exposure to capture the star trail, but the wind wreaked havoc on my tripod so it did not go as planned. I was snugly wrapped in the sleeping bag on the ledge while this long exposure was taken. No lights, no artificial noise, and perfect temperatures made this one of the better nights I had at the Grand Canyon
